Multi-Bottle and In-Store Packing
Retail and seasonal volume packs flip the gift-box brief. Structure, stacking, and cost come first. If packing happens in store, operator handling becomes part of the design problem.
Load Rating and Base Structure
A still-wine bottle runs 1.2 to 1.8 kg filled. Champagne and heavy-based spirits exceed 2 kg. We design box load capacity at least twice the actual filled weight. Bases get a reinforcing card, a double layer, or an EVA or moulded-pulp tray that carries the load.
Lid-and-base and drawer formats are highest risk at the base. We check every design against the filled bottle weight before sampling.
Handle Reinforcement
Handle failure is the most common complaint on multi-bottle boxes. We add a folded-back paper layer at the handle position. This spreads the load and stops tear-out when a customer carries the box by the handle.
In-Store Assembly and Dividers
In-store assembly is where dividers go wrong. We build in two fixes. Orientation arrows plus asymmetric locating tabs mean a reversed divider physically will not seat. Structure solves it, not training.
If one box must take two bottle diameters, we use one divider with two fold positions, marked A and B on the reverse. The operator folds to the position that matches the bottle.
Window Position and Bottle Labels
Window position is verified against both bottle labels, not sized from one bottle type. We check the window opening against the actual label placement on the bottles you specify. This keeps the label visible and the bottle protected.
